Beef BBQ

Beef Bar-B-Q

 

Years ago Uncle George & Aunt Evelyn Reschke owned a BBQ stand in Benton Harbor, Michigan. This is the recipe they used. It freezes well.

 

Ingredients

 

  • 2 lbs. stew beef (or round steak, cut up)
  • 1 pint tomatoes
  • 2/3 cup chopped onions
  • 1-1/2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons BBQ or Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon salt

 

 

Simmer 4 to 5 hours. Pour off juice (or simmer the last hour with the lid off).

 

OR - Cook for 8-10 hours in crockpot on low.
